Nokia Integrates Anti Virus Software on SmartPhones

Nokia has today announced that it is teaming up with F-Secure to provide anti virus software on phone models of Nokia N71, E60, E70 and E61. The software will be available on the memory card as part of the standard phone sales (for N71) while it will be available on Nokia catalogs service for the other models.
It is very easy to download the software onto a phone. It also has an automatic update service notifying the user of daily updates. Antti Vihavainen, Vice President of F-Secure (Mobile Security Division) quotes, "Easy discovery and activation are critical to the adoption of antivirus service. The cooperation with Nokia is a great addition to our offering. By combining our automatic antivirus solution with the enhanced security features of Nokia's smartphones, we can provide a competitive solution against harmful content."

Providing antivirus software such as the F-Secure antivirus clients for select devices is a natural step in our aim to bring the most advanced security features into S60-based smartphones."
Only devices with Symbian Operating System v9 or S60 3rd Edition platform can be compatible with F-Secure's 3.0 anti virus solution.
