Opera Launches Mini 2 Browser Application May 3rd , 2006
Opera
Software has today announced version 2 of its popular
cell phone browser called the Opera Mini 2. The free browser
was initially released in January 2006 and after gaining
instant popularity, the company has decided to make improvements
to it.
This browser can run on any smartphone
thanks to the use of a proxy browser. Instead of the application
itself finding internet routes and processing, the servers
at Opera do this job. This thus makes the browser very
lightweight and easy to download. Here are some of the
new features of Opera Mini 2:
- Easy & smooth horizontal panning
when scrolling forwards or backwards.
- Right click type feature that lets
you save MP3s, images, etc directly to the phone via a
convenient menu.
- Use of multiple search engines
- New themes and skins
- Improved bookmark menu that can be
activated via a shortcut key
- SMS Mobile Ecommerce support
