Samsung SGH-T509 Review, Specs and Pictures
(April 5th, 2006)

Samsung SGH-T509 Introduction | Details and Specs| Picture Gallery

Available from T-Mobile, the Samsung SGH-T509 is officially the slimmest cell phone to ever hit the US market. With a thickness of 9.8mm, the SGH-T509 has a 262k TFT color screen which makes viewing streaming videos and other multimedia very vibrant and enjoying.

You can connect the SGH-T509 with a PC thanks to Bluetooth technology. This allows easier transfer of files from PC to the phone. With internet and EDGE (Enhanced Data for Global Evolution) capabilities, users of the phone can surf the Internet at ultra fast speeds and download multimedia content such as ringtones, themes, animations and more easily.

Here are some of the features available with the Samsung SGH-T509:

- Integrated VGA digital camera with 0.3 megapixels, auto focus, zoom, video capture and playback

- WAP 2.0 browser with EDGE capability allowing rapid transfers of files and multimedia content, as well as Internet browsing

- Bluetooth Wireless Connectivity allowing handsfree communication

- T9 Predictive Text Input (with this feature, the software predicts the words you are just about to type, and gives you a list of suggestions in drop down menu format. You just select the right word and the job is done!)

- SMS (short messaging service), EMS (enhanced messaging service) and MMS (multimedia messaging service). Here is the difference between MMS and EMS:

- EMS allows you to format your text messages to make them look more professional and organized. Things such as font size, alignment, styles, single/double spaced and paragraphs make up EMS.

- MMS on the other hand allows you to attach videos, sounds and photos (.gif and .jpg formats) to a text message. So if you have to send a greeting with sound and video to a loved one, MMS will help you do it! With the 1.3 megapixels digital camera included, you can take your photos and attach them to emails and share them with loved ones all with the click of a few buttons!

- Chat softwares including AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ, and Yahoo! Messenger

- Downloadable games (J2ME)
