WAP Internet

The W600i is sophisticated when it comes to internet browsing. Using Wap version 2 and Netfront 3.3 internet browser, users can access many websites on the internet and download content directly to their phones.

The surfing speeds that are available with the W600i model are between 70-140 kbps (thanks to EDGE technology). EDGE that stands for Enhanced Data Rate for GSM Evolution allows users to surf the internet at 2-3 times faster speeds than the common GPRS networks.

The W600i also comes with Bluetooth technology enabled. This means you can transfer tons of multimedia content on your PC directly to the phone at the click of a button.

Memory Capacity

The W600i comes with a whopping 256 megabytes of internal flash memory. This means you can store tons of MP3 songs, ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers and more on the phone. However one problem is the lack of memory expansion slots. This means you cannot add additional memory to the already 256mb of space. Thus if you exceed the 256mb memory limit, you will need to delete some files in order to make space.

Connections

The phone comes built in with Bluetooth 2.0 that allows you to hook up the phone to tons of other appliances within a 10 metre radius. You can thus hook up the phone to your PC via a USB or infrared cable and download tons of multimedia and text content. What's more, thanks to Bluetooth HID (Human Interface Device), you can control your entire Personal Computer even if you are far away from it.

How does this work? Well you connect your phone to your PC via a USB cable and assign it some key presses that correspond to individual computer functions. Example, you can set up a key on your phone that when pressed, will also open up an Internet Explorer browser on your PC. This dual functionality is made possible thanks to Bluetooth technology. This essentially means you can turn the Sony Ericsson W600i into a personal PC remote control!

Entertainment

Thanks to the built in 256mb of memory and TFT (Thin Film Transistor) that produces vibrant screens and higher display refresh rates, the sony ericsson w600i makes gaming on the phone very enjoyable. The phone comes built in with 3 games namely:

- Worms Fort 3D (play with teams to destroy worms that have deadly weapons).

- Gauntlet (fight against big monsters)

- Extreme Air Snowboard (go snowboarding and do tons of cool tricks on the ice).

Additional games can also be downloaded on the phone thanks to J2ME (Java 2 Platform Micro-Edition). The graphics of these games are really awesome thanks to the TFT screen as well as Mascot Capsule's Java 3D game features. These 3d features produce awesome quality graphics that make playing games so much more enjoyable.
