WAP Internet

The W810i allows you to surf the Internet at rapid speeds thanks to the NetFront 3.3 browser supporting TML 4.01 WML 1.3, and xHTML 1.1 formats. The available data transfer rates include 48KBPS provided by GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) technology.

Some carriers will allow you to have EDGE technology instead. Standing for Enhanced Data Rate for GSM Evolution, EDGE technology allows you to surf the Internet with speeds from 70 to 135 kbps. EDGE can cover 13,000 U.S. cities and towns and more than 39,000 miles of U.S. highways (reaching out to a milestone population of 253 million people).

Memory Capacity

The W810i allows you to store upto 512mb of music thanks to the Memory Stick Pro Duo. The internal allocated memory is 20mb and more space (upto 2GB can be purchased from retailers).

Connections

Supporting Bluetooth 2.0, the W810i can communicate with other devices such as computers, laptops, digital cameras, appliances and more within a 10 metre radius. E.g Multi-Player games can be played via multiple different phones as long as they have Bluetooth capabilities. Here are some more sophisticated connectivity features of the Sony Ericsson W810i:

- Dial-Up Networking Profile (DUN) allows you to connect to a laptop.

- Bluetooth Human Interface Devices (HID) allows you to control other computer devices located within a 10 metre radius just like a remote control would!

- Generic Object Exchange Profile (OBEX) allows you to transfer music files from your PC to the W810i.

Entertainment

Thanks to the built in 512MB of memory and TFT (Thin Film Transistor) that produces vibrant screens and higher display refresh rates, the sony ericsson w810i makes gaming on the phone very enjoyable. The phone comes built in with 3 games namely:

- Worms Fort 3D (play with teams to destroy worms that have deadly weapons).

- Gauntlet (fight against big monsters)

- Extreme Air Snowboard (go snowboarding and do tons of cool tricks on the ice).

Additional games can also be downloaded on the phone thanks to J2ME (Java 2 Platform Micro-Edition). The graphics of these games are really awesome thanks to the TFT screen as well as Mascot Capsule's Java 3D game features. These 3d features produce awesome quality graphics that make playing games so much more enjoyable.
