Messages

The sony ericsson w810i comes with SMS (short messaging service), EMS (enhanced messaging service) and MMS (multimedia messaging service). With the MMS feature, you can share multimedia content with your friends and family by emailing them content such as ringtones, screensavers, wallpapers, 3gp videos and more.

The writing of these SMS, EMS or MMS Messages is also made very easy thanks to predictive text input (T9). With this feature, the software predicts the words you are just about to type, and gives you a list of suggestions in drop down menu format. You just select the right word and the job is done!

Users of this phone can keep in touch with loved ones via Yahoo, MSN and AIM messenger softwares. Furthermore, the w810i also includes a new feature called Wireless Village. This feature allows you to chat with your contacts, and merges your phonebook as well. You can thus contact your friends via email, SMS, or chat all with the same software. A really neat convenience feature i must say!

Screen

sony ericsson w810i screenThe screen size of w810i is 176 by 220 pixels (1.9 inch screen) with a color range of 262k colors. Notice the 262k colors because most other cell phones come with a 65k color display. What does this mean? This means the screen refreshes at faster rates and creates a beautiful display screen. This coupled with TFT (Thin Film Transistor) that produces higher refresh rates means that the screen remains vibrant and vivid causing an awesome picture display. This being despite of the relatively small screen.

The TFT also makes games, videos or taking photos (via the digital camera) much more fun because of the vibrant and beautiful screen. The disadvantages of using a TFT screen? It eats up more battery power and consumes more power.

Audio

Using the built-in Disc2Phone PC software, users of the W810i can transfer tons of music directly from their PC folders into the phone. The software will transfer files sorted by Artist, Album and Title. Think you'll run out of space for so much music? Probably not. That's because the phone has a built in 512 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo that can hold music equivalent to 15 fully used up CDs. Additional memory cards can be bought storing upto 2GB.

The supported file formats of the W810i include:sony ericsson w810i back

- WAV (16 kHz)
- MP3
- AAC
- MP4
- AMR
- MIDI
- IMY
- EMY
- 3GP

Some cool effects included in the Walkman are:

- Bass and Treble Equalizer
- Mega Bass audio effects thanks to the three outer speaker ports amplying the music

If you get tired of your own music, then the phone has a built in FM radio that allows you to listen not only upto 20 radio stations but also live radio! More important data such as news, stock prices, weather, etc can be accessed by the Radio Data Support.

You can listen to music for 15 hours (Music Mode) with the Sony Ericsson W810i.
