Technology that locates the position
of a cell phone by reading from nearby GPS satellites
and any surrounding cell phone towers. This function is
carried out by a location network server.
The location network server
performs the following tasks:
- Check for availability of satellites
nearby
- Perform the difficult mathematics that determine the
precise location
Places where A-GPS technology can work
includes interiors of buildings and offices, transportation
vehicles and highly populated urban areas.
