Some cell phones come with a built-in
technology called "Airplane Mode" that turns
off the wireless radio parts of the phone so that it can
be used when flying. Most airlines have banned the use
of cell phones onflight in order to prevent interference
with the plane's radio and navigation systems.
Airplane mode therefore allows you to
use parts of your phone (non-wireless) safely on a plane.
Examples include playing games, making calendar entries,
etc. Check with the rules and policies of the airline
with which you are flying. Some have completely banned
the use of cell phones whilst in flight (including the
airplane mode).
